HCS APPLICATION GUIDELINES

1 – APPLICATION SUBMISSION AND RECEIVAL

This is in accordance with the requirements of clause 7.2 of ISO 17065, clause 9.2.1 of GSO 2055-2, clause:9.2.1 of UAE.S 2055- 2, and clause 9.2.1 of OIC/SMIIC 2.

Applicants will receive the essential content from HCS which is encompassing but not limited to; the HCS application guidelines, policies, application process scheme and relevant processes, and the overall HCS standard operating procedure.

  • The application will then submit their application to HCS through the dedicated and secure web portal, while also providing all the necessary and requested documents/details.
  • HCS will receive the application, and will then inform the applicant that their application has been received and the subsequent step of application reviewal is scheduled for processing.

 

2 – APPLICATION REVIEWAL

This is in accordance with the requirements of clause 7.3 of ISO 17065, clause 9.2.2 of GSO 2055-2, clause:9.2.2 of UAE.S 2055- 2, and clause 9.2.2 of OIC/SMIIC 2.

  • The application will be reviewed by nominated HCS team members.
  • HCS will begin a background check on the applicant.
  • HCS will review and process all documents, and request further information if necessary.
  • HCS will then set out a plan for an audit of the applicant. The audit will be in accordance with the applicants’ preferred availability, HACCP plan, operational capacity and the product complexity and variety.

 

3 – AUDIT TO THE APPLICANT

This is in accordance with the requirements of clause 9.2.3 of GSO 2055-2, clause 9.2.3 of UAE.S 2055- 2 and clause 9.2.3 of OIC/SMIIC 2.

  • HCS will appoint an audit convoy, this will consist of both technical and religious expertise.
  • The audit will be conducted in a thorough, solicitous, and objective manner.
  • Once the audit is finalized, the applicant will be informed of the findings during the audit closing meeting.
  • The audit report will then be finalised, and provided to the applicant within 2 business days.

 

4 – HCS HALAL COMMITTEE REVIEW AND FINAL DECISION

This is in accordance with the requirements of clause 7.6 of ISO 17065, clause 7.2.3 of UAE.S 2055- 2, and clause 9.2.5 of OIC/SMIIC 2.

  • The audit will be presented to the HCS Halal Committee for further review.
  • The HCS Halal Committee will then inform the applicant on whether their application is acceptable or not. If there are any possible non-conformances that need to be addressed, the applicant will be informed and they must be corrected before application can progress.
  • The HCS Halal Committee will finally notify the applicant on whether the application was successful or unsuccessful. The committee’s decision will be final.
